
ELIGIBILITY INCREASES CHILDCARE SUBSIDIES
Effective Monday May 11, Monroe County restored the eligibility for child care subsidies to families up to 165%
of the Federal Poverty level. Families may receive child care subsidies for full day or "wrap around"
school age care for children 6 weeks to 12 years of age. The new eligibility levels are as follows: Note that
a family of 2 means one parent one child, a family of four could mean two parents and two children, or one parent
three children, etc.
Family of 2: up to $24,040
Family of 3: up to $30,211
Family of 4: up to $36,382
Family of 5: up to $42,553
To apply for a day care subsidy please call the DHS Application Line 585- 753-6960 to request a Child Care Application.
Complete the application and send it to the Assessment Team, Room 120, 111 Westfall Road, Rochester, New York 14620.
The application will be reviewed and assigned to an Intake Worker for eligibility determination.
Subsidies for families above 165% of poverty
There is funding available for families whose incomes are above this guideline, in a special facilitated enrollment
program, called Child Care Dollars. If your income exceeds the guidelines above by 20-30 % you may be still be
eligible for a child care subsidy. To enquire about eligibility call 295-1000, x 296 or visit www.childrensinstitute.net
