Family Child Care Department:
RCN's Family Child Care Program primarily supports home-based child care
providers who serve children 6 weeks to 12 years of age. Our satellite office has a network of over 200 in-home
providers, who serve up to 2,000 children. The caregivers participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program,
ensuring that the children are served well-balanced meals. The licensed and registered homes affiliated with our
office, are regulated by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and receive their required training
along with technical support from our highly skilled staff. Our course work complies with the 30 hours required
by OCFS.
Child and Adult Care Food Program:

Do you do Child Care in your home? If so, would you like to be reimbursed for those nutritious meals you serve
to the children in your care? Call and ask for our CACFP Coordinator at 585-461-3598, and she will come to your home, and show you how to do the required daily paperwork.
Training Program:
We offer a variety of educational opportunities for in-home childcare providers, and center childcare staff. A
15-hour Health and Safety competency training is offered, specifically for people who are becoming licensed or
registered providers. We offer monthly programs for existing providers including the State University of New York
satellite teleconferences. We offer a wide variety of training, including Health and Safety for center staff. Our
goal is to offer guidance, networking opportunities, and technical support services to Family Child Care and center
caregivers alike. Give our Training Coordinator a call at 585-461-3598, to register for classes or request specific training for your child care center
staff.
